Welcome to LAPD RANT!

First off thanks to the inspiration of NYPD RANT (http://p066.ezboard.com/NYPD-RANT/fnypdrant64609frm1) and the dedicated officers of the NYPD (my original hometown) for the idea, chuckles, venting, and above all RANTING on their site. Cops everywhere deal with issues that are exclusively appreciated and understood by them alone. A civilian cannot be expected to comprehend the bullshit that police officers deal with on and off the job from their supervisors; from the community; from the so called 'leaders' of their community; politicians, media etc.

As a 34 year veteran of the job and now happily retired husband, dad and grandpa... I have seen it all, experienced it all, lived it all, and sadly shed tears along the way for some of the bravest, most heroic human beings I could ever wish to know.

This site is their voice. This site is dedicated to their struggles. This site is consecrated as hallowed Internet ground to the officers of the Los Angeles Police Department - past, present and future...

(In the spirit of not re-inventing the wheel - we proudly plagiarize our big brother's site - NYPD-RANT and use some of their ground rules)...

Welcome to the new LAPD RANT blog. All posts are subject to approval. WE WILL MONITOR ALL POSTINGS. PLEASE WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE. PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY LE OFFICER NAMES. If a thread gets too lame, too vulgar, or becomes a personal bitch session between posters it will be deep sixed. YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM THE FORUM IF ANY OF THE REQUESTS ARE VIOLATED. We've got an opening here in Chi-Town. How 'bout we trade you guys a first round draft choice and five grand for Bratton?

Chicago says, welcome brothers

Sorry to bust your midwest bubble but guys and dolls on the job don't like Chief Bratton so much no mo'... Yes, you got to give him credit for cleaning the crap command staff assholes into early retirement... but, and a real big butt.. his 'race relations uber alles' style (AKA Stanley Miller flashlight fiasco and similar) leaves a sour taste.. With Bratton jet setting around the world, the department is truly being run by the #2 on the job Chief McDonnell.

In conclusion you are welcome to take him for a third round draft pick and a round at the Martini Ranch the next time I pass Chicago (if its still in business)..

But my dear brothers in Chi-Town - hang on for a bit of a ride over the next 6 months - I think its going to get bumpy. But i did like that post about a lesbian chief... yeah baby!!!!

Hey is Dugan's in Greektown still around???

Dugan's is still there and going strong. I think you LAPD guys are some of the few I've yet to run into around there. CHP, LA County, SFPD, CHP just to name a few dept's from out your way.
